Outlook is the official employee email system and is part of Office 365. All faculty, staff and student employees are automatically provisioned an account.
Outlook is available via Outlook on the PC and Mac, on mobile devices via the Outlook mobile app and via web browsers by visiting

Each Outlook account is granted 50 GB of storage space.
ESU uses a number of different form solutions including InfoPath and OnBase. All business forms can be found by going to the University Forms Server.
A DAC, or Data Access Coordinator is an individual assigned to manage access and permissions for various IT resources for a department, committee, or team. These may include things such as W: Drive shared folders or Network Scan folders, Hornet Sites, managing a Departmental Server, or managing Exchange Distribution Lists.
ESU works with multiple vendors for hardware, software and other technology purchases. Each vendor provides discounted or quantity-based quotes for specific equipment. IT chooses a wide range of devices and technologies to meet the needs of faculty, staff and students. To view our online catalog, login at hornet.emporia.edu and choose the IT Advisor app.

ESU provides centralized network printing for devices that meet the specifications. For assistance in selecting a device, please see our online purchasing catalog, IT Advisor, by logging in to Hornet 365 and selecting the IT Advisor app.

ESU provides multiple ways to do secure file storage and sharing.
The W: drive is a shared network drive, accessed traditionally through Windows File Explorer or Mac Finder. To set up or request access to a W: drive folder, please contact your departments Data Access Coordinator (DAC). If you need more assistance or you are the DAC, please contact the IT Help Desk.
OneDrive is your personal file storage, which only you have access to by default. OneDrive is part of Office 365 and lets you share files and folders individually and on demand (you don't have to have IT approval). Always be cautious when sharing files with others.
Hornet Sites (formerly "SkyBox") allow users to share files to a team or larger group. Part of Office 365 and powered by SharePoint, a Hornet Site can include multiple sharing locations with permissions being established by the Hornet Site owner or by IT. To establish a Hornet Site, complete the request form in the Hornet 365 Service Center or contact the IT Help Desk for assistance.
ESU provides free Wi-Fi connection on campus for Students, faculty and staff.
Students, faculty and staff: connect to "Hornet Nation" using your ESU username and password.
Visitors: connect to "Hornet Guest" and use your Facebook to check in to get access to the internet OR contact the Help Desk at 877-341-5555 to get a guest password.

SkyLab 2.0 is Emporia State University's virtual computer lab. You can connect ANYTIME you want, from ANYWHERE you choose. All you need is an Internet connection, and it is available to all ESU students, faculty, and staff.
When you log into SkyLab 2.0, you will automatically have access to the same software that is available in any of the PUBLIC , on-campus, computer labs.
Please Note! Some students may also see additional SkyLab 2.0 environments that are specific to courses that they are enrolled in for the semester (for example, School of Business students will see a School of Business SkyLab environment that has specially-licensed software).
FOR MAC USERS: Please note that you will need to install Microsoft Remote Desktop from the app store.
